Neutrogena Hydro Boost Emulsion Review

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Emulsion

Hello reader’s, today I will be reviewing Neutrogena Hydro Boost Emulsion in this post. It is one of the much-hyped products after the Clinique face moisturizer, also claiming to be a dupe of it. So here I will be sharing the review, which will let you know if that claim is true and will also help you to know the difference between the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Emulsion and the Gel variant.

What does the product claim??

It is a unique water gel-cream that absorbs quickly, like a gel, but has the long-lasting moisturizing power of a cream to quench your extra-dry skin’s thirst. This rich gel relieves intense dryness to help restore the skin’s natural barrier against moisture loss. Plus, it’s fragrance, dye and oil-free, and can be worn alone or under makeup.

It is said to be:-

  • Dermatologist Tested
  • Provides 48 Hour Hydration
  • Moisture Sensor Complex
  • Oil-Free and Alcohol free

My Take on Neutrogena Hydro Boost Emulsion

1. Packaging

The outer packaging is of blue and silver coloured combination box, after opening it you get the actual product jar. A transparent glass jar with a slight blue tint colour to it and a greyish silver closure cap gives a very luxurious look and feels a high-end product. It has 50g of product quantity.

2. Texture

It has a very lightweight consistency with a gel-based texture. Easy to apply as it gets absorbed in the skin very quickly. The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Emulsion variant is best suited for Dry Skin type as it claims to be whereas the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel variant is for oily skin type. The texture of the Water Gel seems to be watery and has a thin consistency than the Emulsion version. Neutrogena Hydro Boost Emulsion will also suite combination and sensitive skin type.

3. Fragrance

It has no fragrance at all so people who are having a very sensitive nose are going to love this. Even people who do like slight smell in moisturizer still will love this. This means it is not going to irritate your skin whatsoever.

4. Ingredients List

It has four main powerful Ingredients: –

  • Beeswax: – It forms moisture locking protective shield which strengthens the skin barrier
  • Anti-Oxidant Olive Extract Formula: – It repairs the skin barriers damaged by the environment and strengthens it
  • Glycerine: – It hydrates the skin by absorbing moisture from the air
  • Purified Hyaluronic Acid: – From within it constantly pumps and locks in hydration

5. How do I use it and after effects?

It requires a pea-sized amount to cover all your face and neck. A Gel-based cream with watery consistency, but it does hydrates the skin for good 6 to 7 hours. Gives a Non-Greasy and Oil-Free look on the face after applying. This can also be used under makeup; it will give you a healthy glow on the face rather than a shiny look. Gets absorbed into the skin very quickly and makes your skin glow.
It heals your dehydrated skin, dry patches to give you soft and supple skin. This is similar to the Clinique moisturizer, but Neutrogena Hydro Boost Emulsion is a budget -friendly option than the other variant. Neutrogena Hydro Boost Emulsion is best suited for dry; combination and sensitive skin types, whereas Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel is best suited for oily and sensitive skin type. In winter’s oily skin time may also need the emulsion version since skin tends to get drier during this time. The Emulsion version is thicker and the Gel version is waterier that is the only difference between the two, other than that both are the same.

6. Price

It costs up to Rs. 999 for 50 g of product quantity which is on the pricier side, but the glow and nourishment it gives on the face is worth the price point. I personally use this product on a regular basis, so I would definitely recommend this product to everyone without a second thought and you will definitely not regret it.

7. Pros

  • Watery based texture/ Gel based
  • Consist of Purified Hyaluronic Acid
  • Fragrance Free
  • Gives Non-Greasy and Oil Free look
  • Heals Dehydrated Skin
  • Moisturizes the skin for whole day

8. Cons

  • Costly
  • Not a travel friendly packaging

Summary

If you have a dry, combination or sensitive skin and you want a moisturizer which will hydrate your skin without making it greasy or oily, which gives nourishment to your skin and make it look healthy and supple plus fragrance free then your search end here. For oily skin type Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel is the best option. This is one of the best moisturizers I have ever used and you will definitely not regret buying this for sure.
